This estate is situated in the Pomerol area of Bordeaux where 37 hectares of vineyards are maintained to grow selected grapes and berries which are fermented and matured to produce this exclusive wine. Starting from 1947, the years 1948, 1949, 1959 and 1961 are notable years for Chateau Cheval Blanc, as the wines from these years have won maximum appraisal from connoisseurs and wine lovers the world over. These years are marked for the fabulous series of wines from this brand.
Recently in 2010, a 6l bottle of this vintage wine, 1947 Chateau Cheval Blanc was sold to a private collector at an outstanding amount of $304,375. This vintage wine is prepared from healthy grapes, which after fermentation give a rich and sweet flavor with an alcohol content of about 14%. According to many wine lovers, the flavor of Asian spices, chocolates and coffee makes its thick texture more adorable.
Wow! I cringe when I spend $60 at a restaurant for a bottle of wine. Hopefully, that bottle wasn’t corked 🙂
