Chateau Margaux 1787 insured at an eye popping amount of $225,000

An exclusive bottle of a vintage wine from the wine region of Bordeaux, Chateau Margaux 1787 was insured at an eye popping amount of $225,000 in 1989 when one of these wine bottles was accidentally broken in the Four Season Hotel by a waiter. At that time, this vintage liquor was part of the collection of a wine merchant from New York, William Sokolin. Till date, this is the highest amount paid for a wine bottle outside any charity auction. The fine tannins of this wine make this liquor very sensuous and the fragrance of the blackberries and boysenberry in it make wine lovers crazy for this brand. High quality berries produced over 262 hectares of area which include Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and some others enrich this wine. The rich combination of ripe berries and vanilla with a sprinkle of spices gives it a dark violet colour which is described by many wine connoisseurs as rich with an elegant nose.
