What’s Your Favorite?: The SF Chroncle’s Top 100 Wines

What’s your number one favorite wine or your top 10? Do you prefer Sauv Blanc or Cab Sauv? Chard or Sparkling? Pinot Noir or Merlot? Zin or Petite Sirah? Or perhaps you like another blend?

After tasting thousands of wines during 2006 from California, Oregon, Washington and Idaho, The Chronicle was able to hone its list to the 100 they loved most. While Chardonnay, Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon ae the most popular US varietals, according to ACNielsen, Pinot Noir’s sales are coming on strong, having grown 174% in case volume and nearly 200% in dollar sales since September 2003.
