Tropical, Fruitful & Unusual: Hawaii

When you think of food from the Aloha state, you usually think of pineapples, mangos, bananas, Kona coffee and coconuts. Or poi, pork and Spam.

But there’s a new wave of Hawaiian farmers who are growing extremely exotic fruits like poha berries, bilimbi, acerola, dragonfruit, mamey sapoy, ice cream bean, and even the hairy rambutan.
