Paso Robles Wine Region

Paso Robles is one the newest wine regions located between Los Angeles and San Francisco. This region is growing in prominence as one of the biggest area developing along the California in San Luis Obispo County. Plenty of new wineries are emerging in this entire area. It was only in the last 10 years that this area has been emerging as the new wine country of California. Just a decade back Paso had only 8 wineries but today the scenario changed. Today the area has more than 150 wineries.

Founded in the late 19th century, Paso Robles got its name from Pass of the Oaks or El Paso De Robles – the local oak trees. Currently Paso Robles is famous for its great wine. The area also offers the fascination of a characteristic rural community with heritage and culture of California. The area covers over 600,000 acres, while Paso Robles appellation is regarded to be the biggest stand alone AVA or American Viticultural Area in California.
