Former House of God is Now John M Keating Bar, Cafe, & Restaurant : :Dublin

Bar with orange chairs in a spacious, high-ceilinged room with wooden balconies and large windows, the John M Keating Bar is a unique Dublin restaurant set in a former House of God.Modern restaurant interior with curved seating, yellow lighting, set tables, and a warm, inviting atmosphere—perfect for those seeking a stylish Dublin cafe and restaurant experience reminiscent of the renowned John M Keating Bar. Situated in the centre of the city in the heart of Ireland’s premier shopping areas, John M Keating is one of Dublin’s most unique establishments. The former St. Mary’s Church, which lay derelict for a number of years, has been given a new lease on life, after a seven-year restoration.

A striking ultra-modern see-through entrance tower outside the church sets the tone for an impressive contemporary interior which includes a long, sleek pewter bar on the ground floor, two basement café-bars, and a dramatic choir-gallery restaurant with original stained-glass windows and pipe organ as the focal point. The food is rumored to be quite good at this former 18th-century church- it won Best ‘Food & Drink’ for Dublin Tourism Enterprise Award 2007.
