“We’re #1!” isn’t what McDonald’s needs now for publicity. After being the source of embarrassment in the documentary “Super Size Me” and one of the possible links to America’s obesity problem, the Double Arches have now been named as the source for “The Worst Breakfast You Can Eat.”
According to a study from The State University of New York at Buffalo (SUNY), HealthDayNews reports: “Eat two McMuffins and two hash browns for breakfast and your arteries will remain inflamed until lunchtime.” This can be a direct pathway to heart disease and atherosclerosis.
In the study, a McDonald’s Egg McMuffin, a Sausage McMuffin, and two orders of hash browns had a whopping 930 calories. Within an hour after consumption, it will trigger inflammation that continues for up to four hours longer.
