OOOOOH! A great one…

On Saturday I had quite an experience. We were invited to dinner over at the Mayor’s house. He is a true connoiseur and does not drink wine every day, only on special occasions. So our visit apparently qualified. He popped open the Chateaux Margaux 1991 Bordeaux. He sniffed, and poured, and then let us experience it. “Observe the robe”, he said. That’s the color. It was a deep purple red. “It has the flavor of the earth”, he continued. Boy, was he right. I promise you, you can truly taste the soil that the grapes grew in. You can taste the sun and the earth. I am usually skeptical of metaphores to describe a wine, but this one really deserved it. I couldn’t resist but look up the price when I got back home. Approximately U$S 200…gulp!
This wine deserves my 🙂 🙂 🙂 three big smiles! Highest ratings yet at Corktease.
What an experience. Makes you want to clear out your wine collection and start all over again…
