Live the Mysteries Of Nature In Amankora

Concealed in the mountainous valleys of Bhutan, Amankora is a series of five luxury lodges under the faction of Amanresorts presenting guests the chance to experience life in one of the most striking and secluded nations in the world. The five lodges – Thimpu. Paro, Punakha, Bumthang, and Gangtey are positioned in a circular model, inviting guests to board on their personal pilgrimages in this spiritual Buddhist Kingdom.

Amankora Paro is a 30-minute drive from the country’s only airport. With the magnificent snow-capped peak of the 7,300m high Mount Jhomolhari as background, the Paro lodge is a simple wooden structure set amidst lush conifers. Within its natural rammed earth walls, there are 24 suites, each with wood paneled interiors, a king-size bed, a traditional bukhari and a terrazzo-clad bath, and spa facilities.

These facilities are also available at the other four Amankora lodges, the difference being architectural style and the breathtaking scenery unique to each lodge. The Thimphu lodge features conservative dzong architecture – towering whitewashed walls surrounding an inner complex of courtyards and temples. The Punakha lodge, on the other hand, is a traditional three-storey farmhouse delightfully dolled-up in conserved vegetable dye wall paintings and accessible only by a suspension bridge.
