A Century of Luxury Atop Nob Hill: The Fairmont Hotel, San Francisco

On the one year anniversary of the Great San Francisco Earthquake and Fire — April 18, 1907, The Fairmont Hotel rose from the ashes as a symbol of the city’s rebirth. Now, 100 years later, it’s come a long way from being the private residence of mining millionaire James G. Fair.

After all, it’s been the home of the signing of the United Nations charter. It’s where Tony Bennett first sang “I Left My Heart in San Francisco” in 1961. It’s been the star of TV’s 1980s program, “Hotel.” And, on a personal note, it’s where my sister got married.

Now, to celebrate its centennial atop Nob Hill with sweeping views of downtown, San Francisco Bay, The Golden Gate Bridge and the Bay Bridge, you can reserve the Centennial Package at The Fairmont Hotel The Fairmont San Francisco for $599. It includes 2 nights, a $100 dining certificate, a bottle of champagne, plus a commemorative book about the Fairmont’s hisory. But if you feel like really splurging, you can pop for $100K for the penthouse centennial package.

  1. Is this package $599 a night, or $599 for the two-night package? You can get one night for as little as $259 at the Fairmont SF.

    David:
You’re right… The package is for $599 for TWO nights. My bad. I’ll correct it.
Best regards and keep those comments coming,
