Live and Breathe Art While on Vacation: Arte Luise Kunsthotel, Berlin

Interior decorating might not seem the most appropriate venue for the serious artist, but it’s serious artists who designed the spaces at the Arte Luise Kunsthotel in Berlin, Germany.

Within view of the Reichstag building and the Spree River, every one of this hotel’s 50 rooms was decorated by a renown artist, likely German. The rooms are not so much rooms or suites, though accomodations are more than comfortable, as they are more spaces or environments. The rooms are more vivid than the gallery show an artists’ work would normally inhabit, in that an entire environment is created toward a central and unique vision. Where else can you walk into a room and suddenly feel yourself a cartoon, or in the clouds?

If you manage to find one of your favorite artists “showing” at the hotel, book right away. Most commissions only last from two to five years.
