Belly Up To The Mud Bar: Solage Calistoga, Napa Valley, CA

I’ve lunched at the world-famous Auberge du Soleil in beautiful Napa Valley. It is a truly spectacular Mediterranean style getaway.

Now, the owners, Solage Hotels, have created a new, less expensive luxury hotel called Solage Calistoga, slated to open next Spring at the northern end of this renowned winemaking region. It will feature:
• Comfortable meets chic;
• An 89-room cottage-style resort with “San Francisco loft meets Napa Valley barn”;
• A bar and a casual restaurant;
• Fire pits, bocce courts, outdoor terraces and refreshing springs; plus
• A Mud Bar Spa where you can lie on marble slabs and be painted with mud.

Rates will range from $275 for a deluxe room to $850 for a one-bedroom suite. But compared to $525 and up at Auberge du Soleil, it’s a Napa Valley bargain.
