Decades of discussion have made little progress so far. Can a Napa be a Napa if it is not produced in Napa? Hmmm. I personally like the idea of naming the region that the grapes/vineyard is located in. The more details I have, the more likely I am to identify a wine I like and keep exploring its cousins from the same area. But there are proponents of the alternative method.
