Art Rooms Drawing a Crowd: Propeller Island City Lodge, Berlin

forest3.jpg In America, we’ve blogged about themed room art hotels in SF and NYC. In Europe, they’re becoming more popular, too, and the Berlin’s Propeller Island City Lodge is a new bright light in the art hotel universe. Here, each of the 30 rooms is a unique art installation and very reasonably priced.

In the Forest room (pictured), your mattress floats on a series of logs surrounded by red walls. While in the Gruft room, your two separate beds are white coffins. It’s like California’s Madonna Inn, but without the Kitchy Astro-Turfed Golf Room. [Via The Cool Hunter.]
