Wines In The Movies: Grape Flicks

You think of “Sideways” as one of the top 10 films about wine. Right? I did. But what about “The Grapes of Wrape?” Too arid. “A Walk In The Clouds?” Too mushy. “Caberet?” If it only had an “n” it would have been “Cabernet.”

Read this well-researched article, entitled “Grape Flicks” from W. Blake Gray in the SF Chroncle. It lists the best films about wine, based mostly on cinematic merits, not necessarily because they were about wine.

The favorite? “Casablanca” because Bogey toasted Ingrid Berman with champagne by saying, “Here’s looking at you, kid.”
