The Joke’s on you if you miss this April 1 Opening::Napa
Napa Valley’s First LEED Certified, Solar Powered Winery will open April 1, 2009.
CADE Winery, PlumpJack’s Group newest Property will be LEED certified and dedicated to the production of world-class wines through environmentally conscious innovation. It is anticipated that CADE will be the first Gold LEED certified winery in California. As part of the state-of-the-art innovations with which the winery will grow, harvest and ferment its grapes, CADE will utilize solar power, organic farming methods and other “green” elements in both wine production and daily operations.
The winery will produce just four wines, three Cab’s and a Sauvignon Blanc under the direction of award-winning winemaker Anthony Biagi, renowned for crafting critically acclaimed estate cabernets as the winemaker for PlumpJack Winery.
CADE will also feature a culinary program overseen by Chef Kent Nielsen, who will incorporate organic fruits, vegetables, herbs and other produce grown on-site into his seasonally-driven, sustainably sourced cuisine. Chef Nielsen will focus on menu development, wine education and management of day-to-day kitchen operations, including specially-prepared small plates to pair with CADE’s wine for the twice-daily food and wine pairing tours.
FYI: In case you’re wondering, the name CADE is derived from a Shakespearean-era term for an oak cask or barrel.
CADE Winery will be open for tastings
