Bio: Donald Woo was originally trained as an architect at Oxford Brookes University; he worked for Benoy Architects in Hong Kong on several large scale retail projects. After three years of the professional training, Donald decided to make a change; he started his own travel business- a boutique travel host in Thailand called Trufflers. He believes that all skills are transferable.
As a keen traveller, Donald uses his critical eyes to search for the true cultural flavour in terms of gourmet, folk culture & lifestyle. Donald is responsible for the branding and management of Trufflers. He works closely with his fiancée Piromya to develop and design a series of true flavour journeys. He selects the gourmet sections of the journeys insuring that travellers are ‘tasting’ the real Thailand. Because of this, travellers could be dining in exquisite luxury or standing around a hawker eating street food.
Donald also works closely with one of the best boutique hotel in Bangkok- Phranakorn Nornlen. This exceptional collaboration allow two teams to work on few exciting projects such as Unseen Forest Journey (with Rabbit In The Moon Foundation), Concierge service for folk culture travel, Street food cooking class & hotel training school for youngsters ( similar to Jamie Oliver’s 15 restaurant).
Donald splits his time between Thailand & Hong Kong. His motto is to live every day with energy and enthusiasm.
