Why I Love Paris In the Springtime

Spring is just six weeks away, and Paris is calling.

The Hotel Esprit Saint-Germain, a chic designer hotel on Paris’ fashionable Left Bank, is a lovely spot to call home for a few days or even a week. The hotel feels more like a private residence than an inn. When you arrive, you will be greeted by a staff member while seated on a comfortable sofa. Repeat guests are welcomed with personalized gifts upon arrival.

Location is another plus of the Hotel Esprit Saint-Germain. Located in the heart of the fashionable Saint Germain des Pres district, the hotel is minutes from the Jardins du Luxembourg, Boulevard Saint Germain and the Saint-Sulpice Church.

The 28 guest rooms include four suites, each decorated with unique touches and details. They are bathed in dark and muted colors and feature plush carpets, wide leather headboards, brass door knobs and opulent drapery. Several have open terraces while others featured exposed wood beams from the original 18th century structure and star covered bed canopies.

Rates include high-speed Internet access, private safe with internal electric plug for recharging electronics, double-glazed windows for sound control and air conditioning. The hotel has an elegant lounge and bar, breakfast room, library, business center with complimentary Internet access, 24-hour room services and use of the fitness room including sauna, steam, exercise equipment and massage.

The hotel’s newest suites opened last summer and feature private corridor entrances for additional privacy, walk-in dressing areas and two bathrooms. There is also a private lounge overlooking the courtyard that can double as an additional room for an extra guest.

Rates are $389-$982.

Oh, and they have cool jazz on their Website, too.
