Must See D.C.: Touring Washington’s National Treasures
If you visit the nation’s capital, here are a list of the most-visited sites I just visited. It can be exhausting, but most are on the East Mall between the Washington Monument and the Houses of Congress. You can choose to hoof it, take the wonderful underground Metro system, or buy a ticket for the Old Town Trolley Tour to hop on and off at your leisure.
The most popular attractions include: The Smithsonian Institute (at least 15 buildings, including American History, National Air and Space Museum, Hirschhorn Museum and Sculpture Garden, Arts & Industries Building, American Indian and National Museum of African Art), National Archives, The U.S. Holocaust Memorial Museum, Library of Congress, Arlington National Cemetery, Presidential Memorials (FDR, Lincoln, Jefferson), Vietnam Memorial, WWI & WWII Memorials and The National Zoo.
