Four Seasons Hotel & Private Residences Finally Come to Denver
More than four years after plans were announced for a Four Seasons Hotel and Private Residences high-rise in the heart of downtown Denver’s central business district, developers broke ground this week on the $300 million project that is expected to be complete by early 2010.
The 45-floor structure will be one of the tallest buildings in downtown Denver and likely the priciest with the condominiums selling for up to $700 per square foot and the hotel rooms around $300 per night or nearly double the city average. Of course, the rooms and homes come with all the luxury and amenities expected of a Four Seasons: private concierge, spa, room service and more.
Located at the corner of 14th and Arapahoe Streets, the Four Seasons will replace a parking lot across from the Hotel Teatro and a half block from Denver’s Performing Arts Center. The building will have 240 hotel rooms and 102 private residences ranging from less than 1,000 square feet to more than 6,000. About a third of the condos, including two penthouses, have already been sold. The hotel, including 16,000 square feet of meeting space, will occupy the first 16 floors with residences starting on the 18th.
Anytime a major entity comes to Denver, the city’s mayors have proclaimed it a mark of the former cow town’s growing stature. A couple decades ago, then-mayor Federico Pena crowed that Denver was a world-class city when Michael Jackson brought his flashy concerts to town. The Four Seasons ground breaking received the same celebrity treatment with Mayor John Hickenlooper telling The Denver Post that the project “will cement our status.?
The Four Seasons project floundered a little in the financing and permitting process before reaching the point of reality. It was downsized some from the original proposal, but remains a structure that will dramatically change Denver’s skyline.
A “presentation center? for the residences opened earlier this year and sales specialists are available by appointment. For details go to www.towerprivateresidences.com or call 888.877.4081.
