Cartier And America Exhibit :: San Francisco, 12/19/09 – 4/18/10

If you want to have your jaw drop while ogling a 70-carat diamond owned by Elizabeth Taylor, or Princess Grace of Monaco’s royal wedding bling, then you’ll thoroughly enjoy this “Cartier and America” Exhibit by the “King of the Jewelers” for his beautifully crafted diamond and platinum jewelry at San Francisco’s Legion of Honor Museum.

The exhibit marks 100 years of Cartier in the U.S. and features a spectacular array of 200 objects. Best of all, Cartier in America focuses on numerous piece that were commissioned by American “royalty,” Hollywood stars, and heiresses, including jewelry from Marion Davies, Mrs. Cole Porter, Mary Pickford, Barbara Hutton, and Elizabeth Taylor.

The Legion of Honor displays a collection spanning more than 4,000 years of ancient and European art and houses the Achenbach Foundation for Graphic Arts in a neoclassical building overlooking Lincoln Park and the Golden Gate Bridge.

Admission: $10 adults; $7 seniors; $6 youths 13–17 and students with college I.D. Members and children 12 and under are free. General admission is free the first Tuesday of every month $10 special exhibition surcharge for Cartier and America.
