Bigger Is Better :: Singapore Airlines Airbus A380 Takes Flight

Earlier this week, Airbus delivered its first A380 to Singapore Airlines, heralding a new chapter in aviation history.

The first flight is set for October 25 from Singapore to Sydney. Airbus predicts flights from Asia directly to SFO in 2008 or 2009.

This aircraft can be configured to hold up to 555 passengers, is about 75 meters long, has a wingspan of about 80 meters, a range of 8,000 miles, and has a maximum takeoff weight of over 1.2 million pounds. Cost? Between $315 and $320 million per plane. Read more at www.airbus.com.
