The Ritz Goes Red (Square) :: Ritz-Carlton, Moscow

The newest Ritz-Carlton, Moscow lies at the edge of the famed Red Square — site of countless coronations, conflicts and celebration — is now ready to show off its $350 million face-lift. Granted the rooms look gorgeous… and well they should since prices start at $1,000 per night. But the real reason I want to check it out if for the breakfast.

My choice to stay at a certain B & B is often based more for the yummy sounding Eggs Benedict and homemade fruit muffins, than the thread count of the sheets. And Moscow’s R-C is generating some serious buzz for their over-the-top Czar’s Breakfast commanding a royal $700 price tag!

In case you’re wondering what’s included in the morning repast: A bottle of Crystal Champagne; Kobe beef steak with Parmigiano Reggiano cheese and truffle omelette; foie gras “Au Torchon? with caramelized apple and pain brioche; selection of imported Italian prosciutto and cheese; 56 grams of Beluga caviar with blinis, sour cream and quail eggs; seasonal fruits; pastries; freshly squeezed juices; and hot beverages. Wonder who’s coffee they use?

Info: 3 Tverskaya, Moscow. Room rates start at $1,000 per night. Call (800) 241-3333 or go to www.ritzcarlton.com.
