Happy & Horrid Holiday Travel Memories From Vagablond Bloggers, #2 in a series

It was the best of times. It was the worst of times. Here is the third of a series of holiday highs and lows of our travels during this festive season.

Maureen Littlejohn, Travel Writer & Vagablond Contributor.
Best of Times:
– In 1999, on New Year’s Eve, skating with my sweetie on an empty, gorgeous City Hall rink at midnight in Toronto while millions of people gathered a mere 10 blocks away to commemorate the start of a new millenium. We were blissfully alone and when we were finished skating, we walked home silently, holding hands, under a sky popping with stars like fizz in champagne.

Worst of Times:
– I’m hardend to it now, but when Christmas caroles and decorations started being introduced in innocuous places like the grocery stores in November (so many years ago!!) it sent me into an anti-seasonal rage. In my mind, it called for a War on Christmas… Commercialism. Bah humbug.
