Some Like the Names - Some Don’t!

In France, as opposed to most of the world, you get your wine “coordinates” on the label to refer to the region where the grapes grow . There is an exception and it is Alsace. Long has tradition and law allowed Alsace to follow its own drummer and actually name the variety of grapes on the label. Which is what a large number of producers in other regions of France say is the right thing to do, to align their wine with the international market.
