Jet Lag Cures

Rick Steves asked readers what tricks they used to help prevent jet lag.

    - Take melatonin.
    - We just knock ourselves out to stay awake until a normal, but early, dinner and bedtime on arrival day, set our alarm clocks for seven-ish the next morning, and don’t seem to have many problems, except in dark theatres the first few nights.
    - What really helped was watching what I ate and drank before, during, and after the flight.
    - Try to get up at 5 AM for several mornings before the flight to get set a bit closer to European time. Just before boarding the plane take a melatonin. After a good nap on the plane, and an early first night in Europe, I’m just about 100%.
