Gail Conzatti, a telecommunications marketer for 15 years, created the company three years ago as a labour of love for a tough handbag that fits all your stuff — including the essential cell-phone pocket with contrasting colour linings. Now, she’s selling in over 200 stores throughout Canada and shipping worldwide!
After a few layoffs in the telecom business, Gail decided to try her hand at handbags which was always one of her passions. “I began following my dream of launching my own business that was fed my creativity and my sales expertise. My bags reflect who I am — independent, unique and colorful. At first, I hand-painted each bag. Word spread. Then I went beyond selling to individuals to stores and trade shows. Now, through my Website, I have a global audience.”
Gail’s new patterns, fabrics and styles of handbags all live up to GAIA’s philosophy, “Undrab yourself, get vibrant, get GAIA”!
She produces a spring and fall line each year, and each line has two distinct styles — her beautiful silk-screened fabric bags and her ergonomic leather bags. They’re so popular because they’re both collector’s items and every day necessities.
Each season Gail creates new patterns for silk-screening onto her fabric bags and designs and supervises the fabrication of her product lines so that she can be certain that each bag is made with the exacting care and attention she lavished on her very first creations. GAIA girls are known to collect new designs every season.
