Yosemite’s Chefs’ Holidays :: Alive and Better than Well.
Sometimes it’s easy to get caught up in chasing down the next new thing and you can forget about the oldies. Sometimes that’s a good thing because they’ve simply run their course, BUT NOT when we’re talking Yosemite’s Chefs’ Holidays. After almost twenty years, they are even bigger and badder than ever–and it’s my bad for not reminding you before to make your reservations. But they’ve saved some of the best for last and there’s still time…c’mon- be a little impulsive and surprise your girl for an early Valentine’s prezzie.
Although the stellar line-up of acclaimed chefs makes it hard to choose just one holiday, it also makes it impossible to choose wrong. If it were me, I’d be up there in a heartbeat to cheer on one of my fave local Culinary Divas, Flea Street owner Jesse Cool on Feb 1-3, 2009.
It’s hard to believe that this youthful-looking dynamo (a owner-chef of three organic restaurants- and the buzz is that she’s getting ready for #4- a catering company, and author of seven cookbooks) has been passionately leading the organic and sustainable revolution for the last 30 years!
She will be cooking with Joe Miller ~ Joe’s, Venice, CA and another Diva, Nancy Silverton ~ Osteria Mozza & Pizzeria Mozza, Los Angeles, CA.
Each session features a “Meet the Chefs” reception, cooking classes and demonstrations, behind-the-scenes kitchen tours and the fabulous five-course Chefs’ Holidays Gala Dinner, that includes 4 paired wines and takes place at The Ahwahnee® with specially priced two- and three-day packages available at both The Ahwahnee and Yosemite Lodge at the Falls.
P.s. If you haven’t been, you can’t ask for more beautiful surroundings with tons of great hiking trails to burn off some cal’s.
