Wine Tasting, Food Buying & Shopping All Under One Roof :: Plaza Farms, Healdsburg, CA

Last Sunday, my wife, daughter and I took a mini-vacation. Driving just 45 minutes north from our home in Marin County to Sonoma County, we strolled around the Healdsburg Plaza. Similar to Sonoma’s Plaza, I found this town more upscale, quaint and chic. In fact, Healdsburg, about to celebrate its 150th anniversary, s now a full-fledge Wine Country destination, with the official bash on August 18.

But one stop had everything we were looking for:
Philip Staley Winery, a family-owned venture from nearby Russian River.
Tandem Winery, another local winery focused on quality achieved through passion and dedication to its craft.
• Tasty “slow food” from Bovolo Restaurant, a salumeria, gelateria, enoteca, and pizzeria.
• Incredibly savory, award-winning, estate extra virgin and meyer lemon olive oils from DaVero Olive Oil and Pollo Rosso (Chicken Red) Wines.
• The renowned take-out foods from Chef Colleen McGlynn’s Supper, featuring exciting seasonal menus and fresh local ingredients.
• The exotic teas of Oteao, a family owned company promoting tea as a key ingredient of a healthy and balanced lifestyle.
• And beautifully crafted, amazingly colored sea salt cutting boards.

And all this is under one roof at Plaza Farms.
