Windmills, Giants & Wine: La Mancha Wine Tour, Spain

La Mancha isn’t just the place Don Quixote and Sancho Panza raised hell through for a few months in the 1600s. It’s also one of the largest producers of wine in the world. Vintage Spain-Rutas De Vino has a 3-day tour that will take you through some of the La Mancha region’s new and ancient wineries to taste some of the best wine Spain has to offer, with a little Quixote history along the way.

The tour starts in Toledo, one of the culturally richest cities in Spain. The following days consist of tours through La Mancha. After lunch on the second day, you’ll stop to see the windmills Don Quixote famously battled, thinking they were giants. Needless to say, he lost.

The Wine and Don Quixote tour runs about $812. If La Mancha doesn’t suit you, Vintage Spain has many other winery tours through Spain and Portugal.
