Water Water Everywhere: Jules’ Undersea Lodge
Talk about a waterbed! Jules’ Undersea Lodge on Key Largo, about an hour south of Miami, is the only underwater hotel in the world. This Florida landmark was and is a research habitat that’s now a unique hotel. To get there, you have to dive 21 feet into the warm, sheltered Emerald Lagoon with its Spanish galleon replica.
Jules Undersea Lodge offers certified divers unlimited opportunities to explore the shallow 30 foot area. It features creature comforts such as air conditioning, hot showers, a well stocked kitchen, book, music and videos. Best of all, you can watch the watery world through a huge 42″ windows. Or order room service of fresh lobster or fish — delivered by a diver to your room.
Nightly stays are $350 or $300 for groups of six of more. Honeymoon packages are available, as are 3-hour diving visits for $60. Info: www.jul.com Phone: 305.451.2353.
Dear Gil
Do you have Any high res images of the Jules verne Lodge.
I am trying to get some to use inside an educational book called English Plus Wb4 to be published by Oxford University Press. The Lodge itself doesn’t have any high res images.
I’d be very grateful if you could get back to me as this is a very urgent
request.
OUP would be happy to pay a reproduction fee
many thanks
