The Aerie Resort & Spa is one of the loveliest destinations on Vancouver Island. Located 30 minutes from British Columbia’s capital city of Victoria, the resort rises 1,500 feet above the Pacific Ocean, and its mountainside setting is serene any time of year. THE GIRLFRIEND’S YOGA & SPA MORNING

This morning retreat is for women who need a morning break from their busy schedules. It begins with a 90-minute yoga and meditation class with Aerie instructor Sally Adnams, followed by a hot and healthy breakfast in the Aerie Dining Room, finished with a one-hour facial or massage in the Aerie Spa & Wellness Centre.

Dates: Weekday mornings
Cost: $165 CAD per person

YOGA FROM THE INSIDE OUT

This two-day yoga retreat is led by The Aerie’s Sally Adnams. With more than 25 years of yoga studies and a master’s degree in yoga education, Admans thoughtfully tailors her classes to connect with her students. During the retreat, she’ll enlighten guests through two yoga seminars that include philosophical discussion based on ancient literature and meditation, along with deep relaxation techniques.

What’s Included: Two nights’ accommodations, two 120-minute yoga sessions, two healthy lunches and two-three-course dinners with vegan options. Guests will receive a personal yoga mat and writing journal and have full access to the resort’s amenities, including a hot tub and fully equipped gym. Appointments at The Aerie Spa & Wellness Centre are available for an additional charge.

Cost: $800 CAD per person, depending on room

CHOICE, CHALLENGE, CHANGE : CREATE MEANING IN YOUR LIFE

This retreat is led by renowned American psychotherapist and personal life coach Dr. Judith Rodman. As a seasoned presenter of wellness seminars at Canyon Ranch, Dr. Rodman’s forte is building self-esteem and living a positive life. Participants will be inspired and challenged to outgrow their artificial limitations.

What’s Included: Two nights’ accommodations, three seminars, a personal writing journal, two gourmet breakfasts and lunches and two three-course dinners.

Dates: March 14-16, 2008
Cost: $800 CAD per person, depending on room
Private sessions with Dr. Rodman are available at $130/hour, and spa and yoga appointments are available
