Urban Pampering, Squared: Burke Williams Day Spa, SF

A Day Spa can be as small as a store front with a few hundred square feet. Or as large as a warehouse.

The Burke Williams Day Spa slated to open in the new Westfield San Francisco Centre this fall is definitely the latter. With 16,000 square feet on the fifth level, it will be adjacent to a nine-screen Century Theatre area and office space leased by SF State University’s MBA program.

Bloomingdale’s will be the Centre’s anchor with over 350,000 square feet in the old Emporium’s space. Plus, there will be 26,000 sq. ft. of restaurants and a 30,000 sq. ft. Briston Farms gourmet market.

This, in fact, will be the largest Day Spa in SF for facials, massages, nail care, hair care, and aromatherapy. Burke Williams coined the term “Day Spa” in the mid-1980s and owns eight other locales, mostly in Southern California.
