Upscale Downhill Resort Planned: Ritz-Carlton, Northstar-at-Tahoe, CA

I remember when Northstar-at-Tahoe would only let so many people ski the hill on a given day. If you got there late and they had their quota, buh-bye!

Now they’re launching a building boom with a huge planned $300 million project to put a Ritz-Carlton Hotel half-way up the mountain. Construction will begin this summer and be completed in 2009 to include a posh 172-room hotel, 152 ownership residences (75 full and 77 fractional), a spa, 11,000 square feet of conference rooms, a few pools and a restaurant, plus 1,450 luxury condos around the hotel.

And, to be environmentally friendly, the roof wil be made from recycled rubber. Read more at SF Gate.
