Upscale Cocktails, Private Club: Bungalow 8, New York

On a recent TV program, I jealously watched a man who rented an entire Parisienne restaurant for his girlfriend, then proposed to her while they ogled at the Eiffle Tower through the window. If you’d like to enjoy that same kind of empowerment, you can reserve a space at Bungalow 8 in New York City, a private club that brings back memories of Hollywood in the golden era of big name stars and block-long limos.

It’s the brainchild of Amy Saco, who created LOT61. Bungalow 8 features a No Vacancy sign, a granite statue for a doorman, and a sinfully expensive menu. Prepare to fork over $1200 a serving for Tsar Imperial Osetra Caviar.

The VIP Bar upstairs is the where the upper crust gathers to gab over Appletinis and other upscale fruity cocktails. Although, not everyone loves this kind of crowd. One commenter said: “They don’t let anyone in unless they are emaciated, no-talent, brain-dead, teen ‘queens.’ ”
