The Bigger They Are, The Better They’ll Pamper You: Airbus A380
We’ve told you before about the Airbus A380 –– the biggest passenger jet ever built. Well, after two years of production delays, one from Lufthansa landed in New York’s JFK International Airport from Frankfurt on Monday with 500 invited passengers (it can hold 555) after its maiden trans-Atlantic flight. Another from Qantas floated into LAX.
With luxe travel promises from both of these airlines that have ordered the A380, as well as Singapore Airlines which will get its first plane in October, the Airbus is so large and so heavy that SFO had to widen some of its taxiways and strengthen some of its surfaces to handle it, according to spokesperson Michael McCarron.
