Taking Cuisine to a New Extreme

No, it’s not the latest episode of Fear Factor…it’s Extreme Cuisine by “food” writer Jerry Hopkins. Now, I consider myself pretty adventurous when it comes to food, but I have to say, live water beetles or a beating Cobra’s heart would be pushing it…a lot. Here’s a review by Rebecca Ley of Britain’s Sunday Times/Times Online. The table of contents alone reads like a menu for the world’s most bizarre restaurant – how about “Ears, Eyes, Noses, Tonuges, Lips, Gums & Feet,” “Primates & Other Bush Meat,” or “Rooster Comb, Wattle & Testicles, Duck Beak & Web, Chicken Feet & Odd Eggs.” Hopkins himself may be a bit of an odd egg, but one thing’s for sure: he’s certainly taking the idea of a culinary adventure to heart!
