Striking Design & Tribute to the Dead: Holocaust Memorial Berlin

My niece and friend Courtney just visited this spectacular tribute… Sixteen years ago, this building was to be called the “Memorial to the Murdered Jews of Europe”. Now that it’s finally been completed, after firestorms of controversy, it’s known as the Holocaust Memorial Berlin. The striking design by architect Peter Eisenman now fills a parcel of land the size of four football fields in the middle of the restored and reunited capital of Berlin. It includes more than 2,700 concrete slabs.
