Snuffing Out Smoking: Hotels Agree On No Butts Policy

In a growing response to health-minded consumers –– and seeking another way to squeeze more profits out of their operating budgets by slashing cleaning costs –– U.S. hotels are rapidly agreeing to snuff out smoking.

In fact, on my recent road trip, I saw signs in one hotel chain after another, including Best Western, Marriott and Kimpton, saying that anyone caught smoking in a non-smoking room would be fined $75 and up.
