Rustic Luxury: Flying A Ranch, Wyoming

There’s nothing like the quiet of rustic natural environments, the kind early American settlers were too busy trying to survive to truly enjoy them. The Flying A Ranch near Bondurant, Wyoming lets you take in the beauty and natural splendor of the American west without sacrificing a bit of the luxury and comfort you’d expect from the best accommodations.

The ranch has seven individual cabins for their guests, which is limited to 12 at one time. Each cabin is like your own cabin in the country, but with Ralph Lauren sheets on every bed. Some come with amenities like a kitchenette if you don’t feel like gourmet meals in the main lodge. Some cabins have a living room with their own fireplaces. If you don’t want to hole up in the cabin all week, you can join in activities like horseback riding, hiking, fishing. Or if you enjoy killing things while in the country, the ranch offers live pigeon trap shooting instead of the same old boring flying clay targets.

The Ranch is open from the third week of June and closes late September. Weekly rates range from $1,300 to $1,650 per person for double occupancy, slightly more if you’re there by yourself. Info: www.flyinga.com
