Room With A View: Boulettes Larder, San Francisco

About 100 yards south of the famed Slanted Door Restaurant in the Ferry Building along SF’s Embarcadero is Boulettes Larder. Who’s Boulette? The owner’s dog, so I’ve heard, but the food in this European style bistro is terrific with a range of daily meat, vegetarian and fish specials, ranging from $6.50 to $15.50.

The desserts looked tempting, too, but I was stuffed from devouring my potted organic chicken and vegetable shepherd’s pie. My lunch date enjoyed the steamed alaska cod with farro spezzato with a sorreto lemon oil.

Great views of SF Bay are available from the inside and outside seating that can accommodate about 30 folks. They’re open Mon-Fri for breakfast and lunch. Plus, they can accommodate groups of 20 for special dinners.
