Refills from Idaho Winery

Today wineries too are thinking about aiming for green solutions. A winery known as Pend d’Oreille Winery, situated in the northern part of Idaho has thought of a plan that will help it to go green. They propose to sell their Bistro Rouge wines using 1.5L refillable bottles. The customers in the region have the option of bringing their bottles again so that they can get a reduced cost for refills. They can do this as many times as they want.

Steve Meyer, a noted winemaker recently informed Wines & Vines that this particular program which had begun with only 300 bottles has been able to sell 250 of them. The best thing is that several people have come back with their bottles many times. The 1.5 liter bottles are made by using at least 50 % recycled glass. They also come with a permanent silk-screened label so that the consumer can write down his or her name using a marker.
