One Great Restaurant Becomes “Two” :: San Francisco

One of my favorite San Francisco dining establishments for 12 years was Hawthorne Lane, owned by David Gingrass and run by Executive Chef Bridget Batson. a block from the Moscone Convention Center, the MOMA, and other hot spots in the SOMA district.

It recently morphed into Two, a less formal casual and contemporary restaurant with “soulful American” food being prepared by two chefs, and a groovy, funky design. That means offerings like salads and sides such as Iceberg wedges with blue cheese dressing for $4 to $15; entrees like braised and roasted meats and fish dishes for $13 to $36; a trio of ice cream sandwiches for desserts for $7.50; and a wine list that lists 50 bottles for less than 50 bucks.
