Daddy O :: Jersey Shore

Boutique Hotels are a new concept for the Jersey Shore, a place where B&B’s and casinos or more likely to be found.

Daddy O is a unique addition to the Jersey shore. Its vintage and retro seashore exterior is combined with a contemporary interior decor, reflecting the hotel’s elegant simplicity and warm hospitality.

Daddy O opened last August to praise from longtime Long Beach Island vacationers. The Daddy O was a worn-out 80-year-old hotel and restaurant when Marty Grims, a Philadelphia restaurateur who owns the Plantation on Long Beach Island, and four partners purchased it in 2005. “We bought the property for the value of the land,? he said. “That was $4.5 million with the liquor license, and we spent another $5.5 million gutting and renovating it.? The hotel is half a block from the beach. The Daddy O restaurant serves lunch and dinner daily. In the summer, a shop sells wine, liquor and take-out food. There is a roof deck, and beach badges, towels and chairs are provided in season. Rooms are $115 to $375, including Continental breakfast in summer.
