No Smoking, No Butts, No Kidding :: Disney World, Florida

There may be hundreds of wild fires throughout the state of Florida, but starting June 1, there won’t be any smoking in your hotels and timeshare resorts at Walt Disney World in Orlando. Guess that makes it just one more reason to be called, “The Happiest Place on Earth.”

Following a growing trend in hotels throughout the US, Disney is drawing a line in the sand for all 22 of its residences there, enabling it to better accommodate the increasing number of guests requesting non-smoking rooms. As of now, less than 4% of the more than 24,000 Disney World rooms allow smoking.

Now, you can only smoke in designated areas outdoors. Indoors, any violation will result in a $500 cleaning surcharge.
