Night Shift :: Grille 101 Restaurant, San Rafael, CA
Most people check into an Embassy Suites for the free breakfast. I’d now recommend one destination for its dinner.
I dined at the Embassy Suites San Rafael – Marin County restaurant, Grille 101, last night with a large party. We were visited frequently by Executive Chef David Huerls III, a 34-year veteran of multiple well-known Bay Area venues, who cheerfully described each dish that the very attentive waitstaff delivered.
Our group shared a spicy tortilla soup, scrumptious dungeness crab cakes, a tangy oriental chicken salad (accompanied by chopsticks — a very nice touch), entrees of barbecued baby back ribs whose meat fell off the bone and grilled salmon — with jicama cole slaw and garlic mashed potatoes, plus a molten chocolate torte.
Besides every dish being cooked to perfection, we were also impressed with the restaurant’s extensive wine list.
