Puerto Vallarta Hotel & Spa

Puerto Vallarta’s Buenaventura Grand Hotel & Spa has just undergone a $9 million renovation. Formerly known as Buenaventura Hotel & Beach Club, the 11-month rehab was complete in December 2007. A new website was also launched.

The hotel and spa’s fresh look includes 236 newly renovated rooms and suites: 216 deluxe rooms, 14 honeymoon suites, four junior suites and two handicapped accessible rooms. All rooms feature upgraded floors and bathroom furniture, contemporary Mexican décor, balconies and ocean views. Other amenities include flat-screen satellite television, 24-hour room service, fine linens, mini-bars and individually controlled air conditioning.

The hotel’s lobby has undergone a complete makeover with the addition of art work, new couches, tables and tile, and fresh paint. The Lobby Bar boasts innovative furniture and décor. A new business center and hospitality room overlooks the lobby, offering guests a place to store luggage, check email, watch television and wash-up on arrival or before departure.

Buenaventura Grand Hotel & Spa’s pool area features new chrome deck chairs surrounding the main pool, children’s pools and outdoor Jacuzzi. White umbrellas and palapas now line the golden beach. Motorized water sports include jet skis, banana boats, parasailing, diving and fishing. Paddle boats, kayaks and other non-motorized water sports are also available. The Kidz Club has a new menu for beach, pool and shade activities.

Adjacent to the pool, the new Sunset Bar and Grill features gourmet fusion cuisine, and a new sushi bar is located on the beach. Other restaurants include Brazilian steakhouse Rodisso Restaurant and buffet-style Frutas and Flores. Mexican flavors are featured at the main restaurant, seaside and pool snack bars and lobby bar.

An open-air spa, Shakti, offers four treatment rooms and features an outdoor rooftop Jacuzzi. A spa menu of massages, scrubs, facials and therapeutic body treatments is available.

Spring 2008 all-inclusive rates start at $138 per person, per night based on double occupancy. All-inclusive rates include accommodations, all meals, snacks, 24-hour room service, themed nightly dinners, all drinks, cocktails and wine, daily activities, kayaking, snorkeling, introductory scuba lesson, hotel taxes and tips.
