New casually elegant JoLe Restaurant Sounds Tres Jolie :: Calistoga, Ca.

I’m loving everything I hear about this new restaurant:

1. It’s located in the old space of Jan Birmbaum’s acclaimed Catahoula Restaurant which was a great cozy spot for hanging-out.

2.It’s owned by a talented hubbie/wife team,Matthew and Sonjia Spector, who share a “Farm to Table” philosophy.

2.The menu changes daily using only the freshest of locally-sourced organic ingredients whenever possible.

3. It’s fun to design your own tasting menu, since most dishes are “bigger than an appetizer, smaller than an entree”.

4. Prices are easy on the wallet ranging from $8 to $20–now if they’d just throw in some gas money!

5.The wine list has many by-the-glass offerings, ( from California and also round-the world,) and many of the beers are from local microbreweries.

6. Some yummy sounding dishes: Chilled Sweet Pea Soup with Warm Butter Poached Lobster, Beets and Greens with Goat Cheese Cream and a Pistachio Vinaigrette, Spiced Duck Breast with mushroom and sweet potato hash, Dulce de Leche Pudding with caramelized bananas and a crunchy phyllo crust.

JoLe Restaurant is located at 1457 Lincoln Avenue, inside the Mount View Hotel on the main street of downtown Calistoga. The restaurant is open for dinner Tuesday through Saturday 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. (until 11 p.m. on Friday and Saturday). Lunch hours will soon be added.
