Cavalia Hoofin’ Its Way to Vegas

Cavalia, the spectacular equestrian odyssey, is heading to Las Vegas as part of its North American tour. Now on the road for three years, the spectacular show will be presented under its familiar White Big Top at the Rio All-Suite Hotel and Casino. The show opens November 16, 2006 for a multi-week engagement.

I saw the show in the Montreal area of Quebec earlier this fall, and although I’m not a horse lover, I enjoyed it. The production is a blend of original music, acrobatics and horsemanship accompanied by a live orchestra. There are also colorful sets and lighting, multimedia projections and other special effects. But it’s really the bond between the horses and their riders, that’s what makes this show so unique. One more thing: Don’t expect the Lipizzanner Stallions! This is brought to you by Artistic Director Normand Latourelle, a pioneer of Cirque du Soleil.

Tickets are $50-$95 adults; $25-$75 chldren 12 and under. There are also special packages that include hors d’oeuvres and refreshments and a behind the scenes stable tour. For more information, call 866.999.8111 or visit www.cavalia.net.
