This would have been my response until I heard about Camp Kerala. These digs, fit for Indian Maharajas, can be yours, without the jet-lag. Camp Kerala’s spacious, mirror-embroidered tents (each of the hand made tents have over 2,200 hand embroidered mirrors adorning the inner lining) are modeled after the traditional Indian Shikar.
But why stop there? Creator Jenny Lederman, a former barrister, decided to also include Italian mattresses, Hungarian down duvets, Greek sheepskin rugs, adjoining bathrooms, and outdoor deck chairs for the verandah for your “camp.” There are 50 tents, warm showers and loose, staff and service… be it a massage or a banquet, a bottle of Veuve Clicquot or Cloudy Bay, a pint of Kingfisher or Badger Beer, we will have it for you.
How cool would it be to rent Camp Kerala for the wedding of the year or the party of a lifetime!
(But keep in mind: a £6,000 price tag per couple, which puts it on a par with spending a weekend in a deluxe suite at the Ritz in London. )
